Badabon Sangho’s women groups leaders organized an open dialogue with Union Parishad’s members and chairperson on the issue of prevention of violence against women and girls on 23 Jan 2023 at Karapara union at Bagerhat. A total 26 people participated in the dialogue, including Chairman, Members and women group leaders. They discussed various issues such as; a) legal assistance to women survivors in response of violence; b) equality in services regardless of religion, caste, ethnicity and colours ; b) shortage of pure drinking water in her area. In response to the discussion, the chairperson gave commitment for installing the tube well within 1 month. Chairperson mentioned that two cases of violence are ongoing and the accused are in jail now, which has been supported by the union parishad.
The dialogue ended with a pledge to eliminate violence against women and girls.
