International Disaster Mitigation Day was observed on 13th Oct 2022 in Mongla by group members and leaders. The observation was started with a rally, in which Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Mr. Kamlesh Majumder, was joined. He said that natural disaster is a serious problem which happens for a short or long time and becomes frequent cause of extensive human, material, financial or environmental problems. Group members mentioned the main causes of disaster in Bangladesh are man-made pollution, such as industrial plant and vehicle pollution. They also mentioned that government should take actions to reduce the damages by taking appropriate measures. The participants also asked some questions and UNO answered these. By participating in this event, the group members able to share their thoughts with government officials where 75 group members were participated.
