Training was facilitated with women farmers groups on Organic Agriculture and Environmental Protection on December 20, 2023 aiming to empower women in agriculture, promoting organic farming practices and financial autonomy, ultimately benefiting their families and communities. 21 female and 1 male participant attended the training. The training’s sessions covering organic fertilizer production, soil health management, and the dangers of chemical fertilizers. Discussions highlighted the need to empower women transferring skill, land and tools so that they would have control on income. Practical exercise on pest control and disease management in crops was discussed.
Results included- at least 10 women have been influenced to start the organic agriculture at their field; b) 21 women farmers able to know about the safe vegetables; c) at least 8 women farmers are able to share knowhow of organic fertilizers; d) 10 women farmers shared they will start organic agriculture instead of chemical agriculture production.
