Group members observed International Women’s Day 2024’ in Bagerhat   

The International Women’s Day 2024 held on March 8, 2024, at Bagerhat. The purpose of the day is to raise public awareness on equality for women and eliminate gender discrimination. The gathering consisted of 41 women, 31 men, 6 girls, and 4 boys. The event began with a rally organized by various organizations, including Badabon Sangho, under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner. Among dignitaries UNO, Women Affairs Officer, Women Vice Chairman and other public figures were present in the discussion meeting and they gave their valuable speech. Deputy Commissioner in his speech highlighted the importance of women’s day, women’s development in Bangladesh, women’s major impediments, and  government role in women development.  Later, in the afternoon essay writing  competition and various sports competitions were arranged at Dashani Adarsha Secondary School ground where girls of Badabon Sangho participated spontaneously.  Outcomes of the event include 41 women, men and girls were informed about “International Women’s Day” and its theme. Gender disparity has been eliminated as men and women participate together in various activities. The event has been publicized as news in local newspapers, online media, and Facebook which has raised awareness among the general public outside the event.
