The Climate Change Awareness Meeting held on September 18, 2023, at Rajnagar Union Parishad, Rampal aimed to raise awareness about climate change’s impact, focusing on temperature rise, electricity, and cyclone vulnerability. Badabon Sangha and ALRD organized the event. Discussions highlighted climate change effects, including crop loss, reduced fish and vegetable production, and health issues due to a thermal power plant. Community expected 5% of profit and jobs in thermal plant which never came true. Some also pointed out health issue that due to salinity uterine disorder may happen. Girl’s period is not regular that might lead to infertility. Recommendations included urging concerned authority to address issues discussed. The meeting successfully increased awareness.
