16 days activism campaign held on December 7, 2023, at Bagerhat Press Club focused on raising awareness to combat violence against women and girls. Participated by 59 women and 37 men, the event aimed to enhance public awareness regarding various forms of violence against women and girls its potential way forwards.
Activities included a rally at open street, followed by a discussion at the Press Club. Speakers from civil societies and community groups’ emphasized women’s empowerment, opportunities and government initiatives. In the platform, participants raised voices, shared experiences and challenges. Discussions involved plays, poems, songs, and a still image exhibition addressing violence against women. The event received significant coverage from the local media.
