The “Workshop on Policy Discussion for Fishery Professionals in Climate Change Prone Regions” held at Department of Fisheries in Dhaka on 28/11/2023 with an aim to discuss existing policies regarding female fishery professionals with government officials. In the event 27 people attended comprised of 11 female and 16 male participants, including dignitaries like Mr. Mahbubul Haq, Director-General, and Mr. Syed Mamun Alamgir, Chief Planning and Monitoring Officer. Discussions took place with key focus on female fishery professionals’ rights, ID card accessibility, gender biases in income, water usage, salinity challenges, seasonal fishing bans, and schemes for their benefit. The outcome highlighted the need for policy amendments to support female fishery workers’ rights and make sure ID cards are easily accessible at the grassroots level.
