Women’s response to covid-19 pandemic
Our women returnee migrant workers group facilitating a mask production centre at Keraniganj. Returnee workers are working there on roaster basis and producing masks. Most of them already had experience working in the garment sector. So with an initial training, she started to make masks. Many women like her who had returned home during COVID, were engaged in the mask-production.
Marginalised and disadvantaged communities are the most affected in COVID and women don’t have capacity to purchase masks are being supported with free mask distribution. So far, about 7,800 masks are being prepared and distributed among workers who are working in garments and factories.
