Together, group members, volunteers and team organised rallies and discussion in order to observe Sundarban Day on 14th February 2023 at Mongla. Rallies turned into a human chain with the demand of saving Sundarban, the biggest mangrove forest in the world. About 300 people including group members, higher officials and leaders participated in the rally.
In the discussion many issues were discussed like a) how unscrupulous businessmen are illegally collecting wood and leaf for commercial purposes; b) seepage of oil and smoke into water by ship and plants; c) increase rate of tourism into forest areas, etc. Discussant added, `in the last 100 years, the area of the Sundarban has decreased by 451 square kilometers.
At the end of the rally, children painting on Sundarban, a speech, quiz competition, stick game, discussion and cultural function were held at Shaheed Minar of Mongla town. The observation was ended by asking everyone to love Sundarban on 14 February Valentine’s Day.
