A meeting between school teachers and youth groups were held on December 24, 2023 aim to raise awareness of early girls’ marriage and its negative consequences.
Meeting was included issues like sexual harassment, child marriage, mobile phone violence, and safety and security. Discussions centered on the impact of puberty, climate change and inadequate resources on adolescent health, lack of entertainment and counseling identified as key factors responsible for child marriage. Teachers acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in combatting child marriage at grass root level. The meeting also facilitated exchanges about sexual harassment, its causes, and potential remedies among participants.
