Women fisher-folk community struggling and lobbing for long time to get their association registration from co-operative department. By way of series of meeting and consultation co-operative department finally agreed to register a dedicated women association. On 14th November 2022 the Upazila co-operative officer Mr. Zubair Hossen has came to Joymoni, Mongla and handed over the registration certificate to association leaders. The event was organized by association leader to celebrate their excitement and achievement.
In the celebration the association president Mis Halima Khatun provided opening speech and remember group members efforts and action for registering their own association (she mention “Now we have own platform and we are happy to say that we have own association). Ozifa Khatun, Surya Akter, Kamrunnahar, Ahsan Khan of Badabon Sangho and local Union chairman, local co-operative officials, co-operative officials, journalists, civil society members were present in the event.
