Sundarban Day Observation

On 14th February 2022, Sundarban Day was observed on Dhanmari of Mongla. Group members including 20 women, and 25 men participated in rallies and discussion. Movement like the human chain was organized with the demand of saving Sundarban the biggest mangrove forest in the world. About 500 peoples including group members and leaders were participated in the rally.

Besides that, other issues were discussed like how unscrupulous businessmen are illegally cutting down leaf for commercial purpose. Also, many factories have been set up near the river, the waste materials of those factories go directly into the water. As a result, the water is becoming unhygienic for usage, lives underwater are dying, and ultimately the ecosystem and nature are severely being affected.

Through this event along with local people, group members urges to stop building unplanned factories near the river and monitor the illegal cutting of trees to save Sundarban and to save Mother Nature.
