World OBR Day (One Billion Rising) celebrated on 14 February 2025. This year marks the centenary of the global movement against violence against women, which began in 2013. On this occasion, an OBR launching rally was held in front of the Jatiya Sangsad building at Manik Mia Avenue on 26 January 2025. The theme of this year’s OBR is “Rise for Freedom, Rise against Fascism.” Announcing the launch of the next event of this year’s One Billion Rising, OBR 2025 announced a human chain on February 14 and a day-long seminar, film screening, etc.
At the end of the discussion, members of Nari Pokkho, Badabon Sangho, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association, Progressor, Action Aid Bangladesh, BLAST, ALRD, Nijera Kori, Manab Pragroshor Sangha, Nagorik Udyog, Proshika, Pathikrit Foundation, and Sangat, as well as human rights activists including writers, filmmakers, wrote on canvas and painted pictures to express their views and protest.
