Quarterly Women’s Federation meeting at Mongla highlights feminist leadership at local level

The Quarterly Women’s Federation meeting took place on May 9, 2024, at the Mongla Office, attended by 10 women leaders. The meeting united and organised women at the local level, promote female leadership and feminist movements, ensure legal services, provide a platform for women to voice their issues, and facilitate collective decision-making and problem-solving initiatives. Key discussions included bi-yearly election of the federation committee, sharing case studies, addressing water scarcity issues, and discussing employment problems. Women applied for water tanks to meet water shortage and expressed the need for more employment opportunities for maintaining livelihoods. The meeting improved communication amongst groups’ members, allowed women to voice their issues and opinions, and increased awareness of community agendas. Overall, the meeting successfully promoted unity and provided a platform for women to share and address their issues while discussing potential solutions to common challenges.
