To observe International River protection Day on 14 March 2023, Badabon Sangho organized a discussion meeting, human chain and rally on the banks of Mongla Pasur river. A total of 35 group members participated in it, including local fisherwomen leaders, members of BAPA and human rights activists.
Everyone is called to come together to protect the river. Bangladesh is a riverine country. It was emphasized that local people should be aware of river protection. Speakers and group leaders gave emphasis and added that rivers are like the arteries of the earth. Garbage cannot be thrown in the river. Illegal encroachment of the river must be stopped. The river should be dug up again to give its life back to the river.
