25 Nov, 2022 16daysactivism, UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women and Girls and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was observed by the women’s rights groups/organisations of Women’s Land Rights Network. A total 12 organisations observed the day by organising rallies, discussion meeting, protests in Satkhira Shyamnagar, Patuakhali, Narail, Jamalpur, Rajshahi, Khagrachari, Sunamganj. Local civil society members’ lecturers, teachers, journalists, human rights activists, local honorable persons, male and female were participated in the human chain. The theme of the day was: `UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women and Girls’.
They protest against women violence, torture, after marital rape, mental torture, murder, sexual violence and harassment, child abuse, force marriage, harassment in the road, cybercrime and human trafficking. They also raise their voice against the violence of women’s land rights. The participants discussed about violence against women and became more aware about it. They promised to do work for combating violence against women and girls, they will protest violence together.
