On March 9, 2024, a video on football coaching was recorded at Shireen Haque Pilot Secondary School as part of the girls empowerment programme. Girls’ football practice is facilitated with aim to develop girls’ feminist leadership capacity and engage them in social volunteering activities.
Total of 34 girls and 19 parents were observed the video recording process and shared their views. The girls practiced various sports, including football, guided by coaches from Badabon Sangho. Parents shared their supportive feelings, with Dola Dhali’s mother encouraging her daughter’s participation and Anubhudu Dutta Tari’s father expressing gratitude to Badabon Sangho for organizing the event. The video featured interviews of two girls, Ahana and Suchana, with parental consent for recording. The event successfully fostered a supportive environment for the girls, enhanced parent engagement, and provided valuable feedback on the importance of such activities for empowering young women.
