The Women’s Land Rights Network conducted a two-day training on Field Learning Documentation on April 26-27, 2024, at NGO Forum Centre, Dhaka. The program aimed to equip 21 representatives from Women’s Land Rights Network and Badabon Sangho with skills to document field-level learning for advocacy campaign. The objectives included network members’ capacity improvement in documentation, learning about different types of advocacies, policy analysis, and planning, as well as mastering techniques for documenting field learning through various mediums such as written documents, images, and videos. The first day commenced with introductions and expectations from participants. Discussions on advocacy, policy advocacy, and the significance of documentation were held, together with real-life examples and case studies. Participants engaged in activities to understand the process of documenting field learning, including writing concept papers, case studies, and case stories. Ethical considerations in data collection and documentation were also discussed. On the second day, participants learned how to create PowerPoint slides and effectively document images and videos using mobile cameras. Group activities allowed for hands-on practice in capturing clear and impactful visuals. At the conclusion of the training, participants provided feedback on their learning experience, indicating a clear improvement in their understanding of the subject matter.
This newfound expertise is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing advocacy efforts both locally and nationally. By meticulously documenting field experiences and insights, these delegates are now better prepared to contribute meaningfully to policy advocacy initiatives aimed at addressing issues related to women’s land rights. Their enhanced ability to capture, analyse, and present data ethically ensures a more informed and impactful advocacy approach. Thus, the training’s outcomes are set to make a concrete difference in promoting gender equality and equitable access to land resources.
