On December 28, 2023, a pre-registration training was conducted in Devipur, Rampal, Bagerhat, to 22 women farmers, regarding the formation and significance of cooperative societies. Facilitated by group leaders and cooperative officer, the training aimed to familiarize women farmers with cooperative society registration and its functionalities. The Cooperative Officer emphasized the benefits of cooperative societies, depositing saving, investing collectively, market access and capital utilization. Practical sessions explained the procedure and significance of cooperative society formation. Discussions covered women’s rights in agriculture and the necessity of savings, empowering the women farmers. Participants shared that they didn’t know about cooperative society and about the savings, but with the help of the farmers group they got to know them.
