Dialogue Session with Adolescent Girls and Boys in School

On 30 March 2023, a dialogue session was held with the adolescent girls and boys in the class room of Jadunath School and College, Bagerhat Sadar, organized by the Badabon Sangho. Purpose of the dialogue session is to create a common understanding on negative consequences of early marriage. Sessions were facilitated by volunteers and team members, where participants were asked about cyberbullying safety and privacy.

In detail, sessions were discussed about what is child marriage, why it happens and ways to prevent it. At the beginning of the session, girls and boys were shy to speak and talk about their experiences. Volunteers utilized peer discussion tools to energize them in session. Then, peers were discussed amongst themselves and came up with their experiences regarding harassment, cyberbullying and safety. By joining the dialogue, girls and boys’ concepts about digital security were discussed.
