Training on Reporting Techniques For Violence Against Women and Girls and Safeguarding

Badabon Sangho organized a training on reporting techniques for violence against women on 18-19th March 2023 at CODEC Training Center in Bagerhat. In this training participants were 28 group leaders and members. The main purpose of the training is to improve group members and leaders’ capacity to identify violence against women and to build their confidence. 

The session topics included what are violences, how to report, what are privacy, what are criminal laws, etc. Within the sessions, games were included. Games explained how women fall behind for various reasons within the community. Then reasons were discussed like illiteracy, superstitions, lack of empowerment, patriarchy, etc. Additional games explained how violence distorts information and how information changes from one person to another. The participants shared and highlighted the violence in their area and found out the solution. They learned the procedure of filing a general diary at the police station. Also, they learned about Hindu marriage registration and its rules. All participants are pledged to speak out about violence against women. After receiving the training, they learned the proper ways of reporting techniques, safety-security, reliability, and confidentiality.
