Project titled, `Empowering women fisher-folk communities in Bangladesh’ orientation meeting in Mongla conducted – 31 october 2024

The project orientation meeting was organized in Mongla project titled, `Empowering women fisher-folk communities in Bangladesh’ at agriculture hall in upazila, 31 Oct 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to orient stakeholders regarding new project going to implement in Mongla. 26 participants who have participated in the meeting, were emphasizing on the agenda of creative alternative income sources for women fisher-folk and provided importance on saving for off season period. Participants suggested Badabon Sangho to provide awareness and skill including leadership so women fisher-folk would be empowered. By organizing the orientation meeting, 24 govt officials who have participated in the meeting were oriented about the socio-economic aspect of the upcoming project and how its impact on the lives of women fisher-folks. Other stakeholders like journalists orient how they will work together for implementing the project successfully. The project is supported by European Union and Oxfam.
