On December 19th and 24th, 2024, two batches of training on “Active Citizenship, Feminism, and Leadership” were organized in Rampal and Mongla in Bagerhat district. The training sessions aimed to empower girls with knowhow and skills of leadership, feminist thinking, and social responsibility. By facilitating training sessions, girls are able to understand what the gender discriminatory issues are, how feminism impacts on equality, examine citizenship and societal responsibilities, and collective action for social causes. At the end of the day-long sessions, they divided into teams to plan social development initiatives including climate change awareness campaigns, combat early girls’ marriages and democratic rights. The training enhanced leadership skills fostered awareness of responsibilities, and promoted gender equality, inspiring 48 girls to take active roles in societal development.
