Purpose of the meeting: To create awareness for women’s land rights.
On 27th July a training of women group members and leaders on women Ownership was organized by group members at Fakirhat in Bagerhat. Women rights on inheritance of land and property were the focul point of the discussion.
Concept of land related documents such as survey, Mauza map, Deeds, Namzaari, land rent, land lease, Dakhila were introduced and then trained the participants in the event.
They were also taught about activities and services such as correction of Khatian, Namzari etc which are produced at the Union Council and land office. Importance of registration, other documentations and procedures after purchasing the land were also demonstrated during the learning session.
Result: The participators felt empowered and enlightened after taking sermons about ownership of properties.
