Badabon Sangho’s group members organized a public awareness rally and discussion in Katakhali village of the Sundarbans to promote disaster risk reduction and raise awareness on sustainable prevention strategies. The event emphasized the importance of being aware of early warning signals, planting trees to protect against cyclones and avoiding harmful practices such as burning polythene and cutting small trees. The need for coordinated efforts involving government and non-government organizations, local communities, and international bodies was strongly highlighted. It was concluded that during emergencies, everyone must relocate to safe shelters and increase awareness by planting trees in their courtyards. The event stressed the importance of collective action, preparedness, and environmental responsibility in building disaster-resilient communities.
