Women Land Rights Network group members has organized a training on ‘women leadership on land and water-bodies’ on 8th-9th May 2023 at Bishambarpur in Shunamganj. A total of 25 land rights network members from 5 unions of Bishambarpur were presented in the workshop. There were many goals of the training workshop such as; a) acknowledgement of women land rights and land ownership laws; b) feminism roles in gender equality; c) women capacity building on leadership; d) prevention of climate change effect; etc.
In the workshop, the activities of Badabon Sangho were introduced. Women land rights and land ownership laws; prevention of early marriage; how women lost their land in Rampal; etc were discussed. The effects of climate change on women and how to reduce its effects were discussed. Saline water harms women’s health. Hygiene maintenance is difficult in climate change areas. The participants also asked some questions and got their answer. They said, “we have got clear ideas about feminism, women rights and women land rights etc”.
