Organized advocacy meeting with Dept. of Land Record and Survey (DLRS) – 16 November 2024

In 16 November 2024, Badabon Sangho arranged a advocacy meeting with the Director General of Land Record and Survey Department at the Conference Hall Room, Vumi Bhavan, Tejgaon, Dhaka. The purpose of this meeting was to orient govt. high officials on policy research including challenges, constrains that are faced by the women to get their inherit property. Firstly, team members presented policy research’s recommendations and way forwards describing specific policy agendas. Senior government officials of DLRS recognized limitations i.e., women lack of awareness of land documentation, roles of different land offices, and roles of union councils, etc. Total 30 land officials who have participated in the meeting were also oriented about the importance of women’s land rights, and civil society organisations are working to mobilize and organize women and girls regarding uniform family code, common process of documentation, etc.

This is one of the advocacy meeting with govt. officials to communicate peoples’ voice and demand within the possible reform that is the mandate of the interim government.
