On December 18, 2024, a startup meeting was held along with Badabon Sangho and The Business Standard (TBS), and feminist researchers to discuss strategies for documenting and reporting gender-based violence against women while strengthening women’s leadership. The meeting began with introductions, followed by detailed discussions on Badabon Sangho’s thematic focus to secure women’s rights and TBS’s role in raising awareness through media, including case reporting on social platforms. Plans were outlined to organize courtyard meetings and monthly sessions with 10 women-led teams, totaling 120 meetings annually, with a target of at least 100 sessions. Co-facilitators from the teams will schedule these meetings. TBS committed to publishing 18 feature articles, sharing 12 videos, and creating 18 social media cards on gender-based violence reporting tool. Feminist researchers will play a crucial role in documentation and building relationships with women who have migrated to Dhaka in last three years. The meeting concluded with a collaborative strategy to address violence against women and enhance media and community engagement.
